BIO & MESSAGE:
Sam X Renick is a nationally recognized financial education innovator, an award winning social entrepreneur and author and an expert at communicating and promoting the habits of saving money, reading, and writing to children and families.
Sam has authored two children stories and work books, written and produced a 15 song children music CD, and founded the It’s a Habit! Company, Inc., a socio micro enterprise that created the children’s character Sammy Rabbit!
Since 2001, along with Sammy Rabbit and his It’s a Habit! colleagues, he has made over 500 appearances reading, singing, dancing, and conducting interactive skits to 250,000 plus students in 6 countries and 30 states, at schools, conferences, and events like the National Book Festival.
Led by Sam, their collective efforts have garnered acknowledgement throughout the world and resulted in:
- 2009, Induction onto the Loyola Marymount University Entrepreneurs Wall of Honor
- 2008, Institute of Financial Literacy Children's Book of the Year Award
- 2007, California Jumpstart Coalition Leadership Award
-2004, Richard Myles Johnson Foundation Beacon Award Nomination
- 2001 to Present, Proclamations and Certificates from a Variety of Entities including the State of California, the City of Los Angeles, and the United States Air Forces in Europe
When asked what he does for a living, Sam routinely responds, “I spend most days singing off key, clapping off beat, encouraging kids of all ages to make BIG DREAMS COME TRUE for themselves and their families.”
Prior to forming IAHC, Sam spent 12 years as a Subcontracts Manager with TRW and SAIC and 10 years in Financial Services as an Independent Financial Consultant. He is a graduate of Loyola Marymount University and a native of Los Angeles.
