Music Testimonials

“The CD has a much more “grown up” sound and I think, even for little kids, it’s the right way to go…I give it a thumbs up!”
Laura Levine, Executive Director, National Jumpstart Coalition, Mom

“… It's (the CD) great!...A couple of the songs should work really well for my college class this fall, specifically: Anyone Can Be Rich, Debt Stinks, Rainy Day and, of course, Get in the Habit!”
Dr. Barbara O’Neill, Author - Small Steps to Health and Wealth, Professor, Family Consumer Science Expert

“Great new CD! I love the range of musical styles covered. I have a new favorite in Debt Stinks: the rhythms are great; the guitar player is fantastic; and the horns are excellent!  And the lyrics provide a lesson that all credit card holders should heed.”
David R. Johnson, Senior Vice President, ByDesign Financial Solutions

"As soon as the car door closes, our 3-year-old says, 'Daddy, Sammy Rabbit please.' Thanks Sammy, for catching them young so we don't have to rescue them later."
Chad Foster, Author, Financial Literacy for Teens, Dad

“…The music is great!”
Stephanie Curtis, NPR, Sound Money

“Since playing the It’s A Habit CD for my kids, my daughters have created a dance for the title track. My youngest daughter refers to Sammy as “my Sammy the Rabbit” and the song as “my Sammy the Rabbit music.” She is 2 years old and knows the words by heart. We had a family get together and she insisted on listening to It’s A Habit roughly 10 times while she performed the dance routine. Needless to say, now most of my relatives know the song as well as some dance steps. I have to congratulate you and such a strong communication effort and applaud your continued passion in support of children’s financial literacy.”
Dan Gangemi, Alliance Bernstein Capital Management, Vice President Director Research

“I recommend the CD for parents on this list who are raising younger kids and want them to learn the habit of saving or to consider it a resource is you are a professional educator or work with colleagues who interact with children. The music has a lot going for it.  For one, it is varied.  The range of styles is wide and includes reggae, melodic hip hop, classic rock (I swear I hear The Ramones in Change Adds Up), Latin, gospel, disco/funk.  The words are clearly enunciated and the disc comes with a lyrics sheet.  The singers, both male and female, have very pleasant and strong voices.  The music, even though targeting children, is mature and not condescending (as the father of a 16 month old boy I refuse to play "kiddie music."  I play for my son what I like from my lifelong collection of different genres of music and if it is something bought specifically for Elan, it has to be something that I can stand listening to over repeated plays.  This CD would pass this test.)”
Adam Rabiner, Director Financial Education Programs, New York State Banking Department; Leader, FLECNYC (Financial Literacy and Education) Discussion Group

“Your materials are a big hit with the folks who lead 4-H youth groups at the younger age range... these are the 4-H "Clovers", ages 5 - 7 years.  I played the music CD while people entered the conference room and got settled. The 6 songs are the PERFECT fit for that gathering time!”
Megan O'Neil-Haight, FAMILY, YOUTH & COMMUNITIES FINANCE EDUCATOR, Maryland Cooperative Extension

“Your music is awesome!”
Mary Ann Campbell, President, Money Magic. Inc., Professor Consumer Ed. University of Central Arkansas

“…This is one of the great education programs for kids…my daughter adopted a totally different attitude about money and became more of a saver, practically over night. I can’t recommend them enough.”
Gerri Detweiler, Mom, Author, The Ultimate Credit Handbook

“The tune and lyrics of the songs are very contagious.  All age groups catch themselves singing the songs continually after hearing them.  They are a great way to get the important message about savings and other financial concepts in the minds of young children and adults!”
Sharon Reddell Pierce, Texas FCCLA, State Chapter Advisor

“I took a road trip this weekend with my family and we all loved the It's a Habit CD!”
Angelica Frausto, Mom, City of Burbank Community Resources Coordinator

“This is GREAT! LOVED the songs! Who wrote them?? They sound sooo good!”
Variny Paladino, Mom, American Savings Education Council

“My daughter loves the materials (she is 7) and she goes around the house singing the songs.”
Suzanne Curren, Mom, Andrew Federal Credit Union, Marketing

"I really like the music. It is catchy, well-produced, thoughtful and thought-provoking. The songs are a wonderful teaching tool, but even more important, a great conversation starter between parents and their children about the basics of smart money decisions. So many kids' tapes are cloyingly patronizing, but your music is anything but. You struck just the right "chord" -- in the lyrics, melodies, beat and vocals."
Jayne Peal, Author, Mom, Kids and Money
